At the stroke of midnight, October 31st, Kenya joined global economies that have automated and integrated their clearance of air,land and sea cargo through a portal known as Kenya TradeNet.

The Kenya National Electronic Single Window System now official known as Kenya TradeNet was rolled out simultaneously with the National Gateway Payment System, also an integrated electronic platform for payments of permits and other related trade transactions by authorized economic operators.

Kenya's Single Window System is being implemented by state agency,KenTrade with technical assistance from CrimsonLogic of Singapore which is one of the successful economies with experience on paperless trade.

KenTrade CEO Alex KABUGA led the staff in cutting of the cake and toast for the historic moment.President Uhuru Kenyatta had issued the Dec31st deadline for KenTrade to deliver on its core mandate but the a Agency has met its self imposed Oct 31 deadline.The event was held at the Agency's operation centre in Nairobi.
