KenTrade CEO Shares Experience: Case of Kenya Single Window
KenTrade CEO Mr. Alex Kabuga (in red tie) and representatives of Africa Single Window System implementing entities in Africa are being briefed during a tour to the Casablanca Port.
CEO Alex Kabuga together with Head of Corporate Communications Ann Odero, Business Analyst Winnie Mwangi and Assistant Manager Trade facilitation Mr Eric Lukoye are in Casablanca, Morocco on invitation of the PortNet, the entity that is implementing the Single Window System for trade in Morocco.
The CEO was invited to speak on Sharing Experience : Case of Kenya Single Window at the Monday conference whose speakers and participants were drawn from several African countries. They included President, Alliance Africaine pour le Commerce Electronique (AACE) Mr Ibrahima DIAGNE who spoke on Impact of the implementation of a national & regional Single Window on the competitiveness of businesses and the economy in general. General Manager, PORTNET S.A, Mr. Jalal BENHAYOUN spoke about PortNet: Moroccan Single Window for Foreign Trade. Mr. Jérôme FLEURY,EDI Expert & General Manager, Eumatech on Role of Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) in facilitating foreign trade across a single window and Regional Adviser, United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Mario APOSTOLOV who spoke on Impact of the implementation of a national & a regional single window on the competitiveness of businesses and the economy in general .
The Conference is followed by Tuesday workshop where the host PortNet and KenTrade officials will make presentation on the operational processes of the two entities and thereafter come up with strategic engagement plan between the two bodies. The delegation was also conducted to the Casablanca Port.
