RPB and KenTrade set roadmap to permit approval through Kenya TradeNet System

Radiation Protection Board (RPB) and KenTrade have renewed commitment to simplifying the trade transaction process for import and export traders seeking the mandatory licenses from RPB.
A meeting held at RPB head office in Nairobi and attended by representatives of the state agencies also agreed on the road-map to making the RPB Single Window compliant. Acting CEO Mr. Amos Wangora led the KenTrade delegation while RPB Assistant Chief Radiation Protection Officer Mr. Arthur Koteng chaired the meeting.
KenTrade will offer training and sensitization to international traders on application for radiation permit and certificate of radiation analysis. The integration process which is on in the month of May is expected to culminate in the cut off from the legacy(old manual paper based permit approval system) to the Kenya TradeNet System based transactions in June.
RPB is among the 25 Government agencies partnering with KenTrade to ease business processes through adoption of a much simpler, efficient and transparent Kenya TradeNet System being implemented by KenTrade.All port based agencies that have integrated with the System are expected to cease the manual paper based transactions processes by June.
