All the gazetted manufacturers and producers who import goods under the East African Community Duty Remission Scheme, will now be required to lodge their applications online after The National Treasury and Planning in collaboration with KenTrade and the Kenya Revenue Authority automated the application and approval process of the duty remission through Kenya TradeNet System (www.kenyatradenet.go.ke) .
October 30 2020 is the deadline for importers to switch from the manual application for the EAC Duty Remission to the Kenya TradeNet System which is integrated with the Integrated Customs Management System (iCMS) of the KRA hence allowing seamless exchange of information between the two Systems.
KenTrade is offering training targeting traders who have to switch from manual to the automation based processing of Duty Remission via this link.( https://www.kentrade.go.ke/tradenet-training-application-form)
